February and all is white.

Yep. Just thought I would say for anyone who is reading this blog by accident, that all is the same except for more snow. I am not really complaining about it as it brings the water table up and we were due for some improvement in moisture. My pond should be adequate to irrigate the whole year. I am looking forward to a nice warm and wet spring as well to furnish the water for crops. I think that I will go put another log on the fire and settle down to some spring planning. Have a good day and perhaps I'll have something to chat about tomorrow.

Still Snowing

Just in survival mode today. Have to go out and brave the elements to bring the firewood in. It's about 12 degrees and an inch or two has fallen on our already 3 foot of snow. According to the Gurus of weather, the snow will last until this afternoon, which means I get to shovel and plow after that. I love my home and I love the country that I live in, but I would be lieing if I said that I don't get weary of the winter. At the end of Spring, Summer and Fall, I am ready to welcome it back though, along with all of it's problems and aches and pains it's a truly beautiful sight to see all the trees and hills blanketed in the clean pristine snow. Its the four seasons that keep me here in the Northwest. Also I have to say the seclusion of winter is like a blanket of piece, as long as I don't watch too much t.v. and news.

This blog is going to have to go along slowly because of some of the upgrades to this computer that have needed to be done. I think along with the winter and the avoiding the outside world I probably should take the time to do it. I must admit that after watching the State of the Union address last night, though I admit falling asleep during it, the State of the Union is pretty grim and the person at the helm is one sorry excuse for a human being, that being my personal opinion and no I won't aologize for it. Have fun out there kiddies in cyber space and perhaps a little later I can amaze you with some truly great blogging, though I wouldn't hold my breath.

Blowing Snow and Cold Below

Today is a windy snow blowing and extremely cold example of the winters of years gone by. The main difference though is that I don't have to go out and work in it unless I choose too. Somehow I find that a little sad in itself. Funny that I would actually feel a little remorse over not having to venture out in a blizzard to work and freeze my buns off just to make money to feed myself and my family. Now, I ask myself, "are you being lazy or sensible" when I decide that there is no reason to go out. The dogs are panting and looking at me with hopeful eyes. There I find the reason I was looking for, now I am going out to make them happy. Sometimes any old excuse to yourself works.
